Located on the shores of Lake Bariousses, the gîte is the ideal starting point to enjoy nature and explore the treasures of Corrèze:

  • On site: swimming, fishing, relaxing by the lake, hiking trails and mountain bike trails.
  • Vézère Monédières Nature Sports Station : canoeing, kayaking, pedal boats, stand-up paddleboarding, large water park, treetop adventure course and outdoor activities.
  • Treignac, a small town of character : village on the Santiago de Compostela route with its cobbled streets, its grain market where a market takes place every Thursday afternoon, its twisted bell tower of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Chapel, whose astonishing shape has earned it the classification of twisted bell tower of Europe, its old 13th century bridge, its Notre-Dame-des-Bans church, its fountains, its supervised beach, classified as a blue flag and its small shops. This magnificent medieval village is bathed by the Vézère, which makes it a world spot for whitewater canoeing and kayaking. The first world championships of the discipline took place there in 1959, then more recently, in 2022.
  • The Puy du Mas in Saint-Hilaire-les-Courbes : Culminating at an altitude of 727 meters, it offers a 360° view of the Millevaches plateau and the surrounding massifs. This climb of approximately 1km is lined with natural benches and always offers you a nice encounter with a local "inhabitant".
  • The Gorges of the Vézère : a spectacular natural site to discover on foot or by canoe.
  • Les Monédières : offers a succession of gently shaped puys, heather moors so dear to Jean Ségurel's heart, and coniferous forests. At 919 m above sea level, the Puy de la Monédière is the highest point in the massif and is classified as a Natura 2000 zone.
  • Lestards : with its church, unique in France thanks to its thatched roof, this village will offer you a perfect stopover before arriving at the Ferme des Monédières to taste wild blueberries, in tarts, juices or sorbets.

  • Clédat , a place of resistance during the Second World War, the village of Clédat is located in the heart of the Monédières massif on the edge of the Millevaches plateau. Never electrified and isolated in the middle of the forest, the village was abandoned in the 1960s. We wander between thatched cottages, fountains, chapels, granite sculptures and ancient trees, before arriving at the panoramic view of the rock.
  • At the President Jacques Chirac Museum in Sarran, you will wander among the diplomatic gifts offered to the president between 1995 and 2007.
  • Collonges-la-Rouge and Ségur-le-Château , both classified among the most beautiful villages in France, one is famous for its red sandstone houses and picturesque streets while the other will seduce you with its medieval charm, its old stones and its streets full of character.
  • Mont Bessou , the highest point in Corrèze at 977 meters above sea level, offers a spectacular panorama of the wild landscapes of the Millevaches plateau. Perched at its summit, the 26-meter-high panoramic tower invites you to climb its 136 steps to enjoy a view from over 1,000 meters above sea level.
  • Mont Gargan , culminating at an altitude of 731 meters, is located on the south-eastern edge of Haute-Vienne. It is a heritage site and an emblematic landscape of Limousin.
  • Uzerche , nicknamed "the pearl of Limousin", this village offers a magnificent view of the Vézère.
